Kat works with the larger Embolden team on the Student Leadership Program in National Security and assists with student outreach. She is passionate about empowering women to pursue careers in international relations and national security.
In her professional life, Kat works as a Policy Analyst with the Department of Homeland Security's Office of International Affairs. She previously received a Fulbright Research Grant to study intimate partner violence in Montevideo, Uruguay and has conducted independent research projects in Mexico and Costa Rica.
Kat received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with certificates in Latin American and Global Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. During her time at Pitt, she completed a Boren Scholarship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
