BECOME A MENTOR

Overview

As a mentor in our Rising Leaders Fellowship program, you'll virtually co-mentor a small cohort of 3-5 student mentees ranging in age from late high school to early college over the course of half a year. Whether it's with LinkedIn or elevator pitches, your insights will help shape their approaches to their careers and set them up for success.

Embolden will provide the necessary resources so that you can dedicate your time to mentoring your cohort, coordinating a virtual monthly meeting time, and getting to know your students. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership and coaching skills and expand your own professional network with other mentors!

Ideal Mentor Profile

We're interested in developing a team of mentors from a range of backgrounds, whether your professional experience is in finance and technology or journalism and non-profits. No prior mentorship experience is expected, but most Embolden mentors will have the following:

  • 2+ years of full-time professional working experience

  • Strong, polished LinkedIn profile and resume

  • Desire to support and guide high school- and college-aged students

  • Solid group facilitation and interpersonal skills

  • Openness to giving and receiving constructive feedback

  • Availability to commit to a minimum of 2-3 hours per month over a 6-month span
